Wow, I can't believe it has been 4 years since I posted on here!!  A lot has happened in that time, including my retirement on December 31, 2014 after spending 31 years in law enforcement.  Of that time, 25 years was spent with the Beatrice Police Department.

Looking back, I've made countless friends in the law enforcement community.  I can probably drive all the way across Nebraska and no matter where I turn, run across somebody I know or that knows somebody I know.

I often joked with Jan that I would get a CDL when I retired so I could see the country and get paid for it.  However, I didn't think that driving a truck over the road was what I wanted to do.  When Jan & I went to San Antonio with Dad & Mom for Dad's WWII reunion, we rode a charter bus to do some sightseeing, and I decided that wouold be a great way to see the country and meet people.

In August of 2014 I was able to obtain my CDL to operate a motorcoach.  Prior to retiring, I drove on my days off from the Police Department.  After retiring, I went to Des Moines the first week of January for a week long safety school.  Even though I am part time, as of October 24th, I had made 102 trips in 298 days.  I can usually work my work schedule around things at home, and if I turn down a trip nobody gets mad and I don't get in trouble for turning it down.
